Media Center Learning Commons Use

Students may visit the Media Center at any time during the school day, with a pass from their teacher. Students may also visit the Media Center before school, during lunch, and after school if they have a pass.

Student Use Before School
The Media Center hours are from 7:25 am to 3:25 pm. Students who arrive at school early may come to the Media Center to read, check out materials, do research or projects/homework requiring library resources.

Students needing to use computers should come to the Media Center Learning Commons first and will be directed to available computers.

PASSES are available from the teacher on duty in the cafeteria, auditorium or gym at 7:20 am.

Student Use During Lunch
Lunch passes are available from the teachers on duty in the cafeteria during lunch time. Passes may be limited depending upon the class schedule in the Media Center Learning Commons. Students may also use the Media Center Learning Commons during the "Study Hall #1 or Study Hall #2" period. Please have your Study Hall teacher check with Media Center Learning Commons staff to see if space is available before coming down.

Student Use After School
Students should sign up in the Media Center Learning Commons, by the end of their lunch period, to reserve a space in the Media Center Learning Commons for after school use. Students coming after school should have specific reasons  (research, borrowing materials, using computers, etc.) Completing homework that does not need Media Center Learning Commons resources is generally not an acceptable reason to use the Media Center Learning Commons. The library is open until 3:25 pm, and students need to have a way to get home promptly at 3:25pm.

Students who need help completing daily homework should attend a homework club.
